Lady Raiders Lose in District Semi-Finals

The Loudoun County Lady Raiders season ended with a 3-0 loss to Briar Woods in the Dulles District semi-finals.


Kiley Jacobus went the distance for the Raiders striking out 5, giving up 4 hits walking one and hitting one batter, while giving up only one earned run.  Meanwhile at the plate the Raiders only had one hit and it went to Katelyn Packard and this was County's only base runner for the evening.

The Raiders finished 9-13 in Coach Amber Jackson's first season at LCHS.

VARSITY SOFTBALL ADVANCES IN DISTRICT PLAYOFF COMPETITION

The Lady Raiders got timely hitting and a strong performance from freshman, Kiley Jacobus in the circle this Friday evening in beating the Potomac Falls Panthers by a score of 5-1.  Jacobus went the distance for the Raiders, striking out seven and allowing 5 hits and one earned run.  Sarah Nordseth and Renay Aubel each contributed with a 2 for 3 performance.  Nordseth also drove in 2 runs and Aubel had a double and an RBI for Loudoun County.  Courtni Reitz and Katyln Packard also drove in runs for the Raiders. 

As one of four teams remaining in District Playoffs contention, the Raiders return to action on Tuesday evening when they will face the number one seeded Briar Woods Falcons at Briar Woods at 6pm.

Varsity Softball Falls to Broad Run

The Lady Raiders ended the regular season with a loss to the Broad Run Spartans in Ashburn 7-1.

The Raiders were led at the plate by Kelley Duerbeck who went 2-3 with a double and scored the only Raider run.
The only other Raider hit was an infield single by Renay Aubel.

Kiley Jacobus took the loss for the Raiders who fell to 8-12 (5-7 district).

The Raiders start district play on Friday at Potomac Falls at 7 P.M.

VARSITY SOFTBALL WORKS THROUGH ANOTHER PITCHER'S DUEL

On Senior's Night at Loudoun County High School, the Lady Raiders squared off with the Potomac Falls Panthers in a hard-fought pitcher's duel with the Panthers ultimately coming out on top, 2-0.  Kiley Jacobus went the distance in the circle for the Raiders, allowing just 3 hits and striking out 4.  Loudoun County was able to generate only two base hits, a liner to right from Renay Aubel and a bunt single from Katelyn Packard.  Seniors Katie Graff and Melissa Conway were honored in pre-game ceremonies.  Both girls started in the last home game of their high school softball careers. 
 
The Lady Raiders conclude their regular season with an away contest versus the Broad Run Spartans at 6pm on Tuesday evening, May 18th.

Varsity Softball Wins Big Over Dominion

The Lady Raiders bounced back in a big way tonight against the Titans of Dominion High School with a mercy rule shortened 10-0 win in 5 innings. 

The Raiders got a solid pitching effort from Allyson Kuhn who allowed just 1 hit while striking out 3 in her 5 innings pitched.  On the offensive side, the Raiders got 4 Rbi's from Renay Aubel as she went 2-2 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. Kiley Jacobus also went 2-2 while scoring 3 runs and driving in one.  Cortni Reitz scored 2 runs and threw out the only Titan batter to get a hit at second base.  Erin Ertel had a hit, scored a run and drove in one.  Kelley Duerbeck and Katelyn Packard each had a hit and an Rbi for the Raiders. Megan Fadeley also had a hit and scored a run.  Shelby Simmers scored the final run for the Raiders who improve to 8-10 (5-5 district). 

The Raiders host Potomac Falls on Friday at 6 P.M.

Varsity Softball Falls to Briar Woods Falcons

The Lady Raiders fell to the Briar Woods Falcons on Tuesday evening at home 11-2.

Loudoun County encountered heavy hitting and strong pitching from the Falcons who appearred poised to go deep into playoff competition later this month. Kiley Jacobus went the distance for the Lady Raiders, striking out 4 and adding a double and RBI to the Raiders cause. Renay Aubel added a single and RBI.

The Lady Raiders fall 7 - 10 on the season and 4-5 in District play. Their next game is Tuesday, May 11th when LCHS Raiders will host Dominion HS at 6pm.

Lady Raiders Shut Out Patriots

The Lady Raider softball team got exactly what it needed tonight when freshman Kiley Jacobus tossed the first no-hitter of her career in a 1-0 shut out of the Park View Patriots.  Jacobus allowed two base runners on a hit batter and a walk while the Raider defense did the rest.  The Raiders didn't commit an error and Jacobus struck out 7 in the complete game win.  She got all the run support she would need in the second when Renay Aubel was driven in by Sarah Nordseth after walking, moving to second on a passed ball, going to third on a Katie Graff single then scoring on Nordseth's hit to right.  Aubel also walked in the sixth for LCHS's only other base runner. This moves the Raiders to 7-9 (4-4 district) who host Briar Woods in a make up contest Thursday May 6th in Leesburg at 6 P.M.

Lady Raiders Soar Over Freedom Eagles

The Loudoun County Lady Raiders improved to 6-9 (3-4 district) with a 13-3 win over the Freedom Eagles.


The Raiders were led by their corner infielders at the plate with third baseman Renay Aubel going 4-5 with a double, 3 Rbi's and scoring 2 runs, while first baseman Allyson Kuhn went 3-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and a Rbi.  The Raider offensive out burst also included 2 hit nights from Erin Ertel (2 runs), Alex Petruzzo (2 runs, 2 Rbis), Kiley Jacobus (2 runs, Rbi), and Shelby Simmers (run). Sarah Nordseth had a hit, scored, and drove in a run, while Katelyn Packard had a hit and a Rbi.

Pitcher Kiley Jacobus got the win for County striking out 12 while scattering 7 hits and giving up 2 earned runs.

The Raiders are back in action on Tuesday May 4th when they host Park View at 6 P.M.

Lady Raiders Fall to Briar Woods, 10-3

The Lady Raiders dropped their 8th of the season 10-3 to the Briar Woods Falcons in Brambleton on Tuesday night.


Kiley Jacobus took the loss for the Raiders pitching 6 innings, giving up 10 hits while striking out four.  Of the 10 runs allowed 6 were earned as the Raiders committed 4 errors behind her.


On the offensive side Katelyn Packard led the Raiders going 2-2 with a walk, Rbi, and scoring a run. Kelley Duerbeck was 1-2, Katie Graff was 1-3 with a Rbi, Renay Aubel was also 1-3 with a run as was Kiley Jacobus. Sarah Nordseth and Erin Ertel also had hits for the Raiders.  The loss dropped the Raiders to 5-8 (2-4 district). 

The Raiders travel to South Riding to take on the Freedom Eagles on Friday April 30 with first pitch at 6 P.M.

VARSITY SOFTBALL FACES TOUGH OPPONENTS IN SATURDAY DOUBLEHEADER

In a rare Saturday, non-district doubleheader at Park View High School, the Lady Raiders squared off with two, tough Central Virginia opponents. 

Game One saw the William Monroe High School Lady Dragons from Charlottesville take on Loudoun County.  The Raiders managed base hits from Renay Aubel, Kiley Jacobus, Katie Graff, and Melissa Conway with Kaitlyn Packard adding a single and RBI before falling to a tough Dragons team by a score of 8-1.  Allyson Kuhn went 7 innings in the circle for the Lady Raiders and added 5 strike outs to her total of 28 for the season.

In the nightcap, the Lady Raiders faced the Orange County High School Hornets, falling 4-3.  Loudoun County got strong offensive support from Kelley Duerbeck, who added her second home run of the season, a towering drive to center field, while going 3 for 4 and adding 2 RBIs.  Renay Aubel also contributed in a 3 for 4 performance, scoring one run.   Kiley Jacobus went the distance for the Raiders, striking out 10.  Jacobus has now fanned a total of 58 this season.

The Lady Raiders are now 5-8 on the season and 2-3 in District play.  They return to District action against the Briar Woods Falcons at Briar Woods this Tuesday evening at 6pm.
